Flag of Art - Glasmalerie Peters - Paderborn

axis mundi is a 9 metre high glass and neon tower was completed for the Peters company in 1997

The Flag of Art is a beacon sculpture, that expresses the spirit of this new building. Designed to act as a sign for wonderful creative energy of the Peters stained glass company in Paderborn, Germany.

Flag of Art is made of intensely coloured neon tubing mounted on painted plasma cut steel. The flag pulses controlled by an auto-dimmer connected to the neon adding a sense of movement. The sculpture is mounted on the new roof of the stained glass studio and can be seen from miles around.

Completed in 2002 this is the second piece of sculpture created for Glasmalerie Peters at their stained glass studio in Paderborn Germany.
