Light Escape - Oldham Art Gallery and Museum. Light Escape is a neon architectural light sculpture designed for the fire escape of the new Gallery Oldham. The sculpture plays with the idea of hot and cold colours, using cross fading red and blue neons behind a diffusing reglit glass screen. The fire escape turns from blue to red going through a variety of mauves and purples on the way. It reveals the internal structure of the fire escape through the frosted glass architectural screen and is at the end of the building facing the main road creating a dynamic sign for the gallery.

Commissioned for Gallery Oldham in 2002 the architects were Pringle Sharrat and Richards.
