casting out was a project on home ground. The Newlyn harbour lights are an annual event and have given me a lot of joy over the years. As part of the project 'Casting Out ' organised by the Newlyn Art Gallery I was asked to create a new light piece to add to the Harbour Lights. Cornwall is a wonderful place to live but there are many difficult changes to the traditional industries. After talking to people in Newlyn, my ideas developed into creating a funky upbeat beacon. It was evisaged as a forward looking and optimistic symbol to the future regeneration of the town. casting out - Newlyn Harbour Lights - Christmas 2002
