rhythm blue was commissioned by Guildford Borough Council to transform this previously forbidding area into a safe and inviting river walkway. The pillars and the roof glow with beautiful shades of blue and magenta forming an arch of light over the river. The reflected images in the dark water are stunning and ripples made by passing boats disturb the surface of the water creating complex reflections. rhythm blue is created using floodlights fitted with various coloured dichroic filters. These are mounted to the base of each bridge pillar on both sides of the river projecting light onto the pillars and underneath of the bridge. The reflections in the water turn the dark and menacing river into a visual spectacle of shimmering coloured light. rhythm blue is installed on the River Wey in the centre of Guildford next to the Electric Theatre.
